The first hour he had shrugged it off, but as the clock ticked away the minutes and one hour wore into the next, and the next after that, and still into noon, a cold sense of trepidation and unease began to fill him.
Where was Neiro when he needed him? He hadn't seen him since breakfast and though he loathed to admit it, his presence in this predicament would have been reassuring. Particularly so when whoever it was tailing him was keeping him from acting.
So it was that he went about his day, feigning nonchalance and ignorance as he left the penthouse to the cafe. A quick stop before lecture, then a stretch of peace and calm which he usually spent back home before an afternoon of conference. At one point between breaks, the man excused himself to the lavatory. Surely the restroom would afford him some privacy from piercing unrelenting eyes.
Silas splashed water on his face, and peering out of the corner of his eye, spotted his pursuer. A shadow shifted, lurking just out of sight in the corridor.
The silhouette drew back but not before he caught a glimpse, and he balked.
Stark white hair caught the light as his shadow drew back.
It wasn't exactly an uncommon sight, but nonetheless it was oddly familiar not to mention the petite figure. Still, to think any of the female population would be daring enough to enter the corridor of the men's room.
The rest of the lecture passed in relatively uneventful peace despite all misgivings and it was only as he was retiring before the conference that he saw the albino.
Neiro threw him a jolly grin and "Hi Sy!" as he and Esti barreled past him carrying a large bag and laughing to themselves.
"Where have you two been all day?"
"Busy!" was the hollered response in unison.
The brunette raised a brow before sliding the key into the lock and pushed the door open.
His jaw dropped.

| It probably looked something like this. Also, googly eyes make everything better. EVERYTHING. |
At his desk was a "thoughtful" brunch tray and a small note from Neiro.
Hey Sy,
I figured it'd be nice to do something thoughtful now and then, so I gave you some this brunch to mull things over with!
N.
They were on everything.
"Neiro!"
Now he knew where he had seen that brilliant white hair before.
Silas growled and began the tedious work of scraping, brushing, collecting, and tossing the seemingly infinite pairs of eyes that gazed blankly up at him.
Even the utensils were staring back up at him.
An hour later he had finished plucking the eyes from every last breakfast particle, pancake, and spoon when he realized that the bowl was lacking in milk. Probably a good thing, or breakfast would be a soggy mass by now.
With a sigh he picked himself up for a brief visit to the fridge.
Outside Neiro and Esti were at the door, the albino fiddling with his keys.
The redhead glanced dubiously at the door, "Do you think he's really not mad anymore? I mean we emptied the whole 1000 bulk pack."
Neiro shrugged, "It's been a while, besides, I used the sticky-back eyes, not the gluegun this time."
"Is that so... and I suppose that duffel bag you packed earlier was just conveniently filled with spare clothes and hygienics?"
"Just a lit'el something for the sleepover next week." he winked, sporting a playful and secretive smile.
The sight made Esti return it much the same with a grin.
Neiro grumbled before finally flipping to the right key in the wrung, quite frankly it was amazing how Neiro memorized them at all. Esti shook her head, there were over a hundred keys on that rung alone and she knew he kept several.
"Ahah! There we g-"
"NEIRO!!!"
The albino froze where he was, door half open and foot ghosting over the carpet, an overly jolly smile plastered to his face, "On second thought, I think I'll take you up on the rain check for that sleepover. Tonight."
Esti winced at the string of colorful language, not for the expletives, but the overly dramatic and somewhat crude furious cursing of what seemed to be their "idle pastimes". The sheer color of the language would be amusing had it not been them the man inside was currently raging at.
"Yeah, lets do that."
The two darted out the door, Neiro calling a brief salutation and farewell over his shoulder.
"You two come back here and clean up the rest of the house!" Silas snarled at them from the doorway,
