Snippets and Stories: (I) Logical Reasoning

"Why?"

Shir frowned.

Why search for what was never there to begin with?

Why must there be a reason to everything?

How he loathed those who sought reason. There didn't need to be a reason.

There was never a reason to anything.

Not why they were born and not for what they were meant to do.

Humans were such strange creatures. Searching for reason, for purpose. They had to make one up, so that they could feel better, to give themselves impetus, to give themselves a place to belong.

Pathetic.

There was no purpose to anything either.

Why did people want to be so logical when logic was different for everyone? Not everyone thinks the same, if anything, few ever did.

Everyone had a different opinion and everyone wanted to be right and heart.

Many like the God Emperor preached equality, reasoning, and holding himself high on the justice seat, all the while tolerating none but his own and speaking down to everyone.

Certainly upon broaching the topic semantics and cultural quirks of a Buddhist sect he had snidely commented that he wouldn't lend an ear to the words of "one monk". Rude, arrogant, and intolerant, yet preaching acceptance and equality.

Indeed.

He was equally condescending to all, Shir supposed. And he was accepting of all... that was relevant to him. And expected the same of others. For stuff related to him.

Shir chuckled.

What a paradox. Oh how he loved and hated people both.
